Chips for Children 2017 to be held on Friday, October 27

 

Our 4th annual Chips for Children casino night fundraising event takes place on Friday, October 27, at Greensboro Country Club. Plan to join us for blackjack, roulette, craps, poker, auctions, and more as we raise funds for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greensboro. A few sponsorships are still available – see below.

LIVE MUSIC: Sleeping Booty Band to perform at Chips for Children

The Sleeping Booty BandPopular North Carolina cover band Sleeping Booty will perform at the conclusion of this year’s Chips for Children. A high-energy 12-piece band, Sleeping Booty will take the stage following the Chips for Children casino night games and live auction. Plan to stay for the best music from Aretha Franklin to ZZ Top!

Chips for Children supports the Boys & Girls Clubs of GreensboroChips for Children supports local programs of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greensboro. Disaster One is wholeheartedly committed to their mission because, as our president Ras Fenger eloquently stated, “An early investment in these young club members will pay long-term dividends, not just for the club members but also for our community.”

Funds raised from Chips for Children will help the Clubs sustain their afterschool and summer programs’ focus on academic success and character development while instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, and belonging in each club member.

On November 22, 2016 Disaster One president Ras Fenger (right) presented a $40,000 check to Bill Burling (left, Boys & Girls Clubs Advisory Council) and Lee Staton (center, Boys & Girls Clubs Executive Director).

“It’s a great honor to present these proceeds from Chips for Children to the clubs,” said Fenger in making the presentation. “We’re excited by the success of this year’s event and we’re looking forward to an even more successful event next year.”
