Work is beginning on the artifacts from historic US Airways Flight 1549 at our Charlotte facility. Disaster One will clean and conserve seat cushions, life preservers, slides, and other related items from the “Miracle on the Hudson” plane.

Pictured above are:

    • life preservers and life rings from the rescue boats (preservers were worn by the passengers once they were brought onboard)

  • blue seat bottoms used as flotation devices

  • 3 emergency exit doors

  • inflatable slides and rafts (in silver bundles)

Stay tuned for updates along the way!
